MTYA’s Garden Party Collection

The Spring season is upon us, and I hope you’re enjoying the season with plenty of colorfulness, boldness, and statement pieces. I will be updating you on some of my favorite selections, collections, and accessories added to the website throughout the Spring season and beyond. Last week, I released my first collection of this season, ‘MTYA’s Garden Party Collection.’ This collection is one of my all-time favorites because it truly represents the start of a new season and also much hopefulness around this new year.

Often I get the question as to, ‘what inspires each of my collections.’ My inspiration for each of my collections reflects how I’m personally feeling from one season to the following, vintage selections that currently inspire me, colors and patterns that inspire me, or the overall environmental aspects that inspire me to create collections that make me happy bring me plenty of joy. For this newest collection, Spring is one of my favorite seasons of the year (outside of Fall). As I was thinking about this collection, I thought about the park located beyond my apartment building in D.C.

This park, located beyond my building, brings me plenty of joy because it has plenty of trees, pathways for walking, benches dispersed throughout the park, and plenty of greenery, which projects a sense of calm and refreshing mood. For each of my photoshoots, I always bring a basket of props, which helps me think about what type of content I will be creating or what props I can use to inspire me. I had this watermelon basket within my prop basket (as pictured), which inspired me to recreate a park-like setting. To build off the type of setting I wanted to create, I then thought about the year's overall season (e.g., florals, colors, and patterns). From there, I thought about how I could tie both ideas together to create a collection that inspires my current inventory of MTYA items in addition to the park-like theme.

From there, my ideas involved into ‘MTYA’s Garden Party Collection,’ which I’m beyond proud of bringing to fruition.
